Who we are ?

Spanish for Business and Life was created in 2006 by Juan Carlos Jurado.  After teaching Spanish for 6 years at Baruch College, he saw many students were able to recite rules of the language, but were unable to speak more than a few sentences.  Juan Carlos saw a need for a personalized and more flexible method of learning.  The method he developed involves his students in real life situations from the first meeting.  Although the rules of grammar are important, students practicing their speaking skills are the first priority.

The company prides itself in delivering the highest level of service and language training, citing that it is always willing to go further to accommodate customers needs.  Since clients are the driving force behind improving services, the company takes pride in the success of its students

"The best way to acquire language is through interaction; it is also the best way to learn about people, cultures, interests and life experiences that can enrich your own life. By teaching I've found that interaction, and that makes me wiser and happier"

Laura Zorrilla. Madrid, Spain. Degree in Advertising and Public Relations from San Pablo CEU University in Madrid, Spain. She worked as a copywriter at different agencies in Spain and then moved to New York to look for different ways to express herself creatively. She lives in Madrid Spain

"I believe you can be creative in every aspect of your life. Teaching Spanish is a great way to do it because different students have different needs, so I have to reinvent myself every day. And so do my students. That is my source of inspiration."

Carmen de la LLave. Madrid, Spain. Degree in Philology from Complutense University and expert in teaching Spanish for foreigners from UNED University, both in Madrid, Spain. She worked as Spanish teacher in different countries in Europe and South America before she moved to New York.

“One of the most interesting aspects of teaching is that every lesson and every student is different and unique. To create an interesting, useful, funny and special class is a challenge. That makes this profession so fascinating”
